Walks 42 and 43, 26th September 2020
Tokatoka Peak and Maungaraho Rock, Northland.
It was our second crack at Maungaraho Rock, our shoes didn’t have enough grip the first time. We returned with climbing boots.

This is the rock I saw on my last climb in the area at Tokatoka Peak. It’s difficult to get to the top as you have to pull yourself up the rocks with a chain. Climbing boots are needed which we didn’t have. Despite that, we made it to the main ridge.
